Lubbock trucks deal with a specific combination of conditions that destroys paint faster than most environments. West Texas caliche is alkaline dust that bonds to paint on contact. Ceramic coating changes the maintenance equation entirely. The caliche that normally requires scrubbing now rinses off. The UV that would oxidize the clear coat in a few seasons is blocked. Road film doesn't bond as aggressively to the coated surface. The truck looks cleaner more of the time — and washing it takes significantly less effort.
Resale value is the other factor. Trucks hold value in Lubbock. A clean, well-maintained truck with protected paint commands a premium when it's time to sell or trade. The difference between paint that's been ceramic coated and maintained versus paint that hasn't is obvious at 30 feet — and it shows in the price.
