Getting the Car Right
for Prom Night
Prom and homecoming season is one of the few times a year the car ends up in more photos than the people. If you're borrowing dad's truck or taking the nice car out, a detail beforehand is the difference between it looking clean and it looking sharp in every picture.
Book Earlier Than You Think
Lubbock-area prom weekends cluster in April and May, and Frenship, Coronado, Monterey, and Lubbock High don't all land on the same date. That spreads demand across several weekends but it also means the good slots go early. Two weeks of lead time is comfortable; the week of is usually too late for anything beyond a basic detail.
What Actually Shows Up in Photos
Glass and paint gloss. Streaky windows and water spots are what ruin otherwise good photos, especially with flash at night. Interior matters less for pictures than people expect — but it matters a lot for the actual ride, particularly if the car has been a daily driver all year.
Which Package Makes Sense
For a car that's been maintained, the Essential Detail at $195 covers it — hand wash, clay bar, tire dressing, interior vacuum and wipe-down. If the paint has gone dull or spotty, Full Reset & Protect at $350 adds a steam interior clean and a six-month ceramic sealant that'll carry the car through summer as a bonus.
If It's a Truck or SUV
Most prom vehicles around here are trucks and SUVs, and they're priced by size — Essential runs $240 for a truck or SUV. Worth mentioning when you book so we can allocate the right amount of bay time rather than rushing it.
One night-before tip: don't run it through a tunnel wash after we detail it. Those brushes put fine scratches right back into the paint you just paid to have made flat. If it gets dusty sitting outside, a rinse and a clean microfiber is all it needs.
