Rivian Ceramic Coating in Lubbock TX

R1T and R1S owners can choose protection based on the actual finish, storage, mileage, wash habits, and whether the vehicle regularly leaves pavement.

Start With the Actual Rivian

Paint hardness and defect visibility vary by color, panel, production process, prior repair, and maintenance history. We inspect the finish and use a test area before recommending polishing. Darker colors may make wash marks and mineral spotting easier to notice, but color alone does not determine the safe correction plan.

How the vehicle is used matters too. A garaged commuter has different needs from a truck driven on unpaved roads or parked at a job site. Dust and road grit should be rinsed away before contact washing; dry wiping can drag particles across the finish.

What Coating Can Do on an R1T or R1S

A properly installed coating can improve water behavior, add resistance to some chemical contamination, and make routine washing easier. It may reduce the agitation needed for normal road film when the surface is maintained correctly.

It does not make the vehicle self-cleaning or immune to etching. Insects, bird droppings, tree sap, and mineral deposits should still be removed promptly with compatible products. The vehicle still needs regular washing.

Ceramic coating also is not impact protection. It will not prevent rock chips, trail scratches, dents, or abrasion from brush and road debris. If lower-panel impact protection is the priority, paint protection film is the more relevant category to discuss.

Preparation Is Condition-Based

A coating is transparent, so existing wash marks or haze may remain visible unless polishing is both requested and safe. Some Rivians may need only cleaning and decontamination; others may benefit from a test-spot-guided polish. We explain expected improvement and stopping points before work begins.

Paint correction removes a small amount of surface material and is not automatically included as a fixed step. The preparation included with a package is matched to the inspected vehicle, and any additional correction work is agreed before service.

Rivian Coating Pricing in Lubbock TX

R1T and R1S models use our truck and large-SUV tier: $1,099 for 2-Year Protection, $1,499 for 5-Year, and $2,599 for the 10-Year Protection Program. Final price depends on condition, requested correction, surfaces included, and package terms.

We recommend a tier based on ownership plans, storage, mileage, washing, and off-pavement use rather than assuming the longest package is always the best value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Rivian paint soft?

Paint behavior varies by vehicle, color, panel, prior repair, and condition. An electric drivetrain does not determine paint hardness, so we inspect and test before polishing.

Will ceramic coating protect a Rivian off-road?

It can make routine cleaning easier and add chemical resistance, but it does not provide meaningful impact protection. Rock chips, trail scratches, and abrasion are not prevented by coating; paint protection film is the more relevant option for impact protection.

Should I correct my Rivian's paint before coating?

Only when inspection shows correctable defects and polishing is both wanted and safe. Some vehicles need decontamination and preparation without a separate correction step. We use a test area and explain the expected result first.
