Compound + polish. Removes 75-85% of swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation. The most popular correction level for serious results. From $650 sedan.
One-step correction uses a single polish pass. It improves the paint but the product that's aggressive enough to cut swirls leaves its own micro-marring if you don't follow it with something finer. You end up trading old swirls for new micro-scratches.
Two-step solves this by separating the jobs. Stage one cuts with a heavy compound. Stage two refines with a finishing polish. Each stage does one thing extremely well. The result is paint that looks genuinely transformed — not just improved. On dark-colored vehicles, the difference is dramatic.
This is why two-step is the most popular level we perform in Lubbock. It's the sweet spot between result quality and value — dramatically better than single-step, and the right prep for ceramic coating on most vehicles.
A heavy cutting compound paired with a cutting pad physically levels the clear coat surface and removes defects. We work panel-by-panel, check every section under an inspection light, and go back over anything that needs more attention. This stage alone is 3-5 hours on a sedan. We don't rush it.
A finer polish removes micro-marring from the compound stage and brings the paint to its maximum gloss. The finishing pad and polish refine the surface at a microscopic level, creating the depth and mirror clarity that makes two-step results look dramatically better than one-step.
Includes prep wash and iron decontamination. Protect the result with ceramic coating for a combination that lasts years.
