Why Two Stages
Beat One
A single-step service balances correction and finishing in one machine-polishing stage. A two-step service separates the correction and refining work when inspection and a test area show that one stage would leave correctable haze or insufficient clarity.
The first stage uses a condition-appropriate compound and pad to improve eligible defects. The second uses a refining polish and pad to address compounding haze and improve clarity. Paint hardness, defect depth, film build, prior repairs, edges, and body lines can limit the approved approach.
Two-step is not automatically better for every vehicle and is not required before every ceramic coating. We recommend it when the paint condition and appearance goal justify two separate machine stages.
