Lubbock's hard water is loaded with minerals. Every water spot that dries on your windshield leaves behind calcium and magnesium deposits that etch into the glass over time. Once etched, they can't be removed with a standard clean — they require polishing or glass restoration.
A compatible windshield coating adds a sacrificial hydrophobic surface that can make water, bug residue, and mineral deposits easier to remove. Beading and water movement vary with speed, rain intensity, wiper condition, glass condition, and maintenance. It is not a substitute for safe wiper use or normal visibility precautions.
